The ULB's Haute Ecole Ilya Prigogine in Brussels

Building N - HELB (Haute Ecole Libre de Bruxelles ) in Brussels

Construction of a higher education/university  building.

Structural work, finishing work, technical installations, landscaping

The building consists of two blocks with a total surface area of 19,000 m².

Block 1: ± 13.000 m² for the HELB, with:

  • basement: 39-space car park, technical rooms, sports room, fitness room, changing rooms, workshops.
  • ground floor: lecture halls, cafeteria, library, chiropody
  • floors 1 - 4 classrooms, work rooms, offices, lecturers' rooms
  • floor 5: administrative departments
  • roof: heating unit

Block 2: ± 6.500 m² for the ULB, with sports rooms, work rooms, offices, classrooms.

Each of the buildings has its own north-south “inside road”.  Though both buildings have a similar layout, their sizes are different. They have been built facing each other on a common base, now a promenade.

Bored pile foundations : 5.040 m
